Inaugural Event at Beit Zatoun an amazing success!

Amazing success!

The first event held at Beit Zatoun last Saturday will be remembered as a powerful evening with moving and inspiring performances !  We had a "comfortable" full house - 90+ seated. 

The dramatic reading of the play "Seven Days from a Gaza Diary" followed by piano improvisation were a great complement to each other because the reading alone would have been too devastating and leaving us feeling a void of helplessness.  The music somehow served to bridge us back to a sense of completion, humanity and solidarity.  Word and music came together to serve different purposes.

Guests gathered afterwards for refreshments and to greet each other in a very warm and comfortable setting much like being at someone's home.  It was easy to sense people's appreciation for the space and the mood.  We are on to a bright future with Beit Zatoun as many people took note of the space and will be back as attendees and performers.
